Moorhouse & Brook was established in Huddersfield, England in 1903. Since then, it has built a strong reputation as a specialist of premium quality 100% Wool heavyweight fabrics (500-800 grammes per linear metre); meltons, covert cloths, towncoatings, face-cloths, field sports cloths and dress coatings that adhere to the tradtitional British Look.
We work with a number of select leading “design focused” companies (luxury designer brands in apparel and home interiors) who seek the character, personality and enduring quality of traditional worsteds and woollen woven cloths from a small specialist weaver like Moorhouse & Brook .
We offer authentic British woven cloths that are heavily entwined with Moorhouse & Brook’s heritage fabrics of the early part of the twentieth century and woven in small production batches even on an exclusive basis.
Moorhouse & Brook was founded in 1903 by F. L. Moorhouse and C. W. Brook. The business is now managed by the fourth generation, Alistair Ashworth Brook and his wife Nicola, who continue to offer many of the original signature Moorhouse & Brook cloths of earlier generations.
We provide an exclusive yet timeless range of classic fabric qualities that will retain an enduring quality and “heirloom” appeal – the ultimate mark of a premium quality. We forge close relationships with our customers by providing bespoke fabric designs, often drawn from our extensive fabric archives.
Since the 1960’s many of the old iconic British fabrics have become recognised as a niche product, acheieved by working with a network of small specialist spinners, weavers and finishers around Yorkshire, England.
